Well Death came knocking on my sister's door Singing "Come on, sister, are you ready to go?" And my sister bent down, buckled up her shoes And she moved on down to the Jordan stream. And then she shout "Hallelujah! I done my duty! Put on my traveling shoes". Well Death came knocking on my brother's door Singing "Come on, brother, are you ready to go?" And my brother bent down, buckled on his shoes And he moved on down to the Jordan stream. And then he shout "Hallelujah! Done, done my duty! Put on my traveling shoes". Well Death came knocking on my mother's door Singing "Come on, mother, are you ready to go?" And my mother bent down, buckled on her shoes And she moved on down to the Jordan stream. And then he shout "Hallelujah! Done, done my duty! Got on my traveling shoes"". Well Death came knocking on my father's door Singing "Come on, father, are you ready to go?" And my father bent down, buckled on his shoes And he moved on down to the Jordan stream. And then he shout "Hallelujah! I done my duty! Put on my traveling shoes". Well Death came knocking on my door Singing "Come on, child, are you ready to go?" And I bent down, buckled on my shoes And moved on down to the Jordan stream. And then I shout ""Hallelujah! I done my duty! Put on my traveling shoes". Well death comes a-knockin' on my front door, Singin' ""Come on, sister, ain't ya ready to go?"" And then I'll stoop right down, buckle up my shoes And I'll move on down by the Jordan stream. And then I'll shout "Hallelujah! Done, done my duty! Got on my traveling shoes".
